If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988. To report the exploitation of a child, contact the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
MOEV is designed so that everyone in the frame can feel comfortable, including the people who did not take the photo. This Safety Center explains the protections built into MOEV, the controls available to you, how to report a concern and how we work with law enforcement.
At a glance
- No location tracking. MOEV does not access your device's location, and photos carry no GPS data. MOEV names a roll from the day and its vibe, and a reveal shows a place only if the host types one.
- No direct messages. MOEV does not currently offer private messaging.
- Invite-only rolls. Joining a roll requires its code or QR code. There is no search for rolls or people.
- Notice and control. Adult rolls are public by default, and everyone is told before taking a photo. The host can make a roll private at any time.
- Blur requests. Anyone who appears in a public reveal can ask to be blurred out of it, with or without an account.
- Safety review. Photos are reviewed before a reveal can appear publicly, and flagged photos wait for a person to review them.
- Human review. We aim to review reports within 24 hours, and reports involving minors come first.
1. Your controls
- Make a roll private: select "Make private" on the roll, or "Take it off the feed" after it develops.
- Don't feature me: select "Don't feature me" in any roll you join, and MOEV will not use that roll outside the app.
- Remove me: if you were in the roll, select "Remove me from this reveal" on its reveal, and we blur you out of it after review. Not in the roll, or no account? Email us (see Reporting a concern).
- Leave a roll: leave any roll you joined. Until the roll develops, you can also take your photos out of it. Once it develops, the reveal stays whole for everyone, and you can still ask to be blurred. Hosts can remove a participant while the roll is open.
- Block: blocking hides your rolls and profiles from each other and removes any follow between you.
- Comments: comments are filtered for abuse, and hosts can delete comments on their reveals.
- Profile visibility: choose what your profile shows in your profile settings.
- Report: select Report on any reveal, comment or profile.
- Delete your account: on the website, sign in with your email, open Me and select Delete account at the bottom (website guests who never added an email can email us). In the app, open Me, then Settings, then Delete account. Photos you took in a friend's reveal that already developed stay in it, with your name removed.
2. Teens and parents
MOEV is for people 13 and older, and anyone under 13 cannot create an account. Teen accounts for users aged 13 to 17 are not yet available; until they are, teens may view public content but cannot take photos or join rolls. When teen accounts open, a parent or guardian must approve each one, rolls that include a teen will be private by default and never used in MOEV marketing, comments will be limited, reveals will show the state only, and connections with a teen will be limited to people the teen has met in person. Parents may contact hello@moev.app at any time. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
3. Reporting a concern
- In the app or on the website: select Report on the reveal, comment or profile and choose a reason. You may add details.
- By email: write to hello@moev.app and include the link to the reveal or profile. The following subject lines help us route your message: "Safety report," "Remove me," "Intimate image removal" and "Child safety."
- Intimate images shared without consent: email hello@moev.app with the subject "Intimate image removal." Include your name as your signature, the link to the reveal or enough information to locate it, a brief statement that the image depicts you (or a person you are authorized to represent) and was shared without consent, and how to contact you. We will remove the image, and make reasonable efforts to remove known identical copies on MOEV, no later than 48 hours after receiving a valid request. No account is required.
- What happens next: a member of the MOEV team reviews the report. A report that a reveal may involve a minor removes it from the feed during review. We do not tell the reported person who made the report.

5. Law enforcement requests
MOEV protects the privacy of its users and cooperates with law enforcement as required by law.
- Legal process. We disclose user information only in response to valid legal process, such as a subpoena, court order or search warrant, issued under U.S. law and properly served on Dominion Apex Labs LLC, consistent with the Stored Communications Act. A search warrant is required for the content of photos, reveals and comments. Requests must be specific and narrowly tailored.
- Emergencies. If we believe in good faith that an emergency involving a risk of death or serious physical injury requires disclosure without delay, we may disclose information to the extent necessary to prevent that harm.
- Child safety. We report apparent child sexual exploitation to NCMEC as federal law requires and preserve the related content.
- Preservation. On a valid preservation request, we will preserve specified records for 90 days while legal process is obtained, extendable once.
- User notice. We notify affected users before disclosing their information unless prohibited by law or court order, or unless notice would create a risk of harm.
- International requests must be made through a mutual legal assistance treaty or other appropriate process.
- Submitting a request. Email hello@moev.app with the subject "Law enforcement request" from an official agency address. Include the username, profile link or reveal link concerned.
